Duryee Family Reunion (July 11 - 13, 08)

Or we should call this a Puking Episode.

We got together for a family reunion and to celebrate Bob and Marie's 45th anniversary in Canby, OR. Guy was in the Portland area a few days before this gathering so Natty andKaler flew to Portland later. Any how the journey to Portland was way toooo much fun.It started in the van ride to Sea-Tac airport. I (Natty) called Shuttle van to pick us up.Kaler was very fussy and didn't want to stay in the car seat but it was not possible to take him out while the van was moving. So I decided to give Kaler some milk. Kaler took it fine but about 5 minutes later he threw up every where onto himself and onto the car seat. It was not a small amount of throw up either. I didn't have extra clothes for Kaler so he had to wear what he had on. Okay, thanks goodness we got to the airport. Kaler was free from the car seat. No more fussy moment.

Then, we waited about an hour before getting on the plane and guess what. Kaler decided to poop just right before boarding the plane. So I couldn't change his diaper until we landed. The plane ride went really well. Kaler was not strapped in so no fuss but he wouldn't sit still. Luckily it was a short flight. Any how it had been long hours and I was tired and hungry and I was sure Kaler wasn't feeling well either.

Okay… okay, the journey was not over. We had about 40 minutes from Portland to Canby. Guy came to pick us up. Yeah, one more person to come help to take out a stress. We had to put Kaler into the car seat again and started driving and it wasn’t long before he started to fuss again. It was late and he hadn't had anything for dinner. So I started to feed him in the car while he was in the car seat and while Guy was driving. He got some food and again started throwing up all over onto himself and onto the car seat AGAIN. This round was very nasty and huge puke. Okay....I had ENOUGH...ENOUGH. I didn't want to have anything to do with Kaler any more. I couldn't stand a fussy baby, poopy diaper and smelly baby, plus I was so exhausted.
Finally, we got to the Oakley’s house, Guy gave Kaler a bath and put him to bed. Gosh... what a day. I'll not go into details about the car ride home to Seattle. I'll avoid a long car ride with Kaler any possible way I can.Kaler, you were such a trooper.
Well, let's talk about the weekend. We really enjoyed the weekend seeing family and all the kids. It's been a long time since we have seen Clayton and Cory. They are both really tall now. Amy, Mom, & Dad worked very hard to get this event successful... Kudos to you all.

Bob and Marie did renew their vows for the 45th anniversary at the church. What a great memory to see everyone up in front in the church to help them unite their vows. It was great seeing them together this long. We wish you both to be together for another 30-40 years.
